Prof Liang Hu obtained his Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from the New England College of Optometry in the United States in 2008. He has been committed to clinical, teaching, and scientific research in the field of ophthalmology and visual sciences for 20 years. He is skilled in refractive surgery to correct myopia, hyperopia, astigmatism, presbyopia, and complex refractive errors. He has successfully treated over 30,000 patients with refractive errors. He has been dedicated to research in myopia prevention and control, refractive surgery, dry eye, contact lens, ocular surface function, and ophthalmic medical devices and drugs.

He is the principal investigator of over 20 national and provincial-level projects, including China National Natural Science Fund Project, Zhejiang Provincial Natural Science Fund Project etc. He has published over 70 peer-reviewed papers in high-impact journals, and has authored or co-authored over 10 textbooks in ophthalmology and visual sciences. He has won the first prize of the Chinese Medical Award and the first prize of Zhejiang Science and Technology Progress Award. He has been honored as the ‘Health Innovation Talent’ in Zhejiang and the ‘Famous Doctor’ in Wenzhou.
